Innovations are occurring rapidly in the field of healthcare. Research and inventions are helping patients and hospitals in the prevention and better handling of the treatment of diseases. A side effect is that with the innovations and treatments, the cost is growing exponentially, therefore society demands more transparency in the whole chain. As the regulations become stricter, suppliers and institutions are obligated to work according to European regulations.
Even though it is a good development there are certain sectors in the healthcare branch that can not meet the regulations, due to the fragmented nature of the market and the versatility of products.
Fragmented suppliers' landscapes such as lab chemicals are difficult to be caught in regular tender processes and rules. There are too many unique products from suppliers and established protocols in the branch to comply with the general EU tender rules. Research trajectories are difficult or impossible to map in advance requiring institutions and suppliers to invest a disproportionate amount of time. As a result, the whole tender process would become the opposite of the essence of implementing a tender - "a better match of supply and demand, so that an economical benefit can be achieved”.
The mission of Eqilence is to simplify the tender process for institutions and suppliers who are operating in the problematic zone of lab chemicals. We do that with a minimal change in the process along with achieving 100% compliance with the European tender rules.
For this purpose we have developed S-DAS, a SMART Dynamic Purchase System specialized in tendering lab chemicals, in cooperation with the branch.
EQILENCE works according to the guidelines of NEN 7510 (standard for information security for the healthcare sector in the Netherlands).
